Honestly, my background has kind of led me, slowly, into children’s publishing, particularly the pieces connected to stories, picture work, and the whole book preparation thing. I’ve spent time around writing plus creative projects, and I’ve gotten used to editing, illustration, and all those steps that turn a rough draft into a finished book. Somewhere along the way, I also learned how children’s book publishers Canada collaborate with authors and illustrators, helping polish manuscripts so they fit different young readers. It’s all, sort of, a seamless mix when you see the full process.
